WinSCP plugin for Altap Salamander is SFTP and SCP client which provides a secure way of copying files over TCP/IP networks. Unlike FTP, SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) provides data transfer over a fully encrypted channel, preventing authentication information and file contents from being transmitted unencrypted over the network.

It's highly recommended to use SFTP (instead of FTP) for transferring files securely over the internet or any other untrusted network.
