Plugins (add-ins) make team work on Servant Salamander easier. The plugin is an
stand-alone module that adds its services (unpack archive, view file, etc.) to the
application only when these services are needed. The biggest advantage is the
stand-alone feature. Everyone can make his (her) own plugin if he (she) knows the
plugins interface. For example, when someone makes a plugin for viewing mpeg files
(popular video format), you can easily download and add this new plugin to your
installed Servant Salamander.
Another big advantage of the stand-alone feature is that adding functions doesn't
affect the file size of the main executable. So Servant Salamander will start
just as fast even when it contains many new functions (using plugins). Plugins
are loaded into memory only when they are needed and they can be unloaded from
memory after use.

PictView (Picture Viewer)
PictView plugin adds support for viewing over a 40 graphics formats, including
JPEG, GIF, BMP, PCX, TGA and TIFF, copy and paste clipboard operations, zooming,
viewing multi-page formats.

Internet Explorer Viewer
Internet Explorer Viewer plugin adds support for viewing internet formats,
including HTML, XML, GIF and JPEG from Servant Salamander. Requires MS Internet
Explorer 3.02 or later.
ZIP
ZIP plugin adds a support for work with ZIP archives in Servant Salamander.
Using the ZIP plugin you can simply browse ZIP archives as if they were normal
directories. You can unpack files from the archive, create a new archive and
pack files to the archive. It also supports archive spanning, encryption and the
creation of self-extracting archives.

TAR
TAR plugin adds support for work with TAR/GZip archives in Servant Salamander.
Using TAR plugin you can simply browse TAR/GZip archives as if they were normal
directories. You can list files in the archive and unpack them.
UnRAR, UnACE, UnARJ, UnCAB
These four plugins add support for easy work with RAR, ACE, ARJ and Microsoft CAB
archives in Servant Salamander. Using them you can simply browse archives as it
were normal directories. You can list files in the archive and unpack them.
All of these plugins support spanned (multi-volume) archives. In addition UnRAR
and UnACE supports also unpacking of encrypted files.
MP3 Viewer
MP3 Viewer adds support for viewing information about MP3 files like
like bitrate, frequency, title, album, artist, year, etc.
Portable Executable Viewer
PE Viewer adds support for viewing information about Portable Executable files
(EXE, DLL, SYS, DRV, OCX), like file header, optional header, data directory,
import tables, export tables, section tables, and resources.
Quake PAK
This plugin adds support for id Software's PAK files which came with the games
Quake and Quake II or it's modifications. Using PAK plugin you can treat PAK
files like the other archive files in Servant Salamander.

Check Version
This plugin was designed to allow all users to keep in touch with the latest
versions of Servant Salamander and its plugins. It uses Internet connection
to ALTAP web page, where information about new versions are stored. It can
optionally start when choosen time period elapses and so regularly check for newer
versions.
