Cleaning Disk Free Space

When you delete a file, only reference to its data is deleted and the data itself remains on disk until another file's data overwrites it. If you want to clean all disk free space, use this command. It makes recovering of deleted files very difficult if not impossible (surely impossible for common undelete utilities).

To clean disk free space:

  1. Change the directory in panel to the drive where you want to clean disk free space.
  2. Open the Clean Free Space dialog box:
    Menu:Plugins/Encrypt & Decrypt/Clean Disk Free Space...
  3. Select a shredding method and number of passes. See the Shredding Methods section in How It Works for details.
  4. Choose the OK button to start cleaning.
